- Subbu November 11, 2014Think of return in try block as saving the return value and then the finally block overwriting that value. When the method "finally" returns (after executing finally) the new return value is what the finally block had set it to.
This is a really confusing aspect of Java.
C# removes this confusion by disallowing return in the finally block.
