Open Addressing (Which involves finding a free space in the array when a collision occurs) and Separate Chaining(Which involves the use of a LinkedList kind of datastructure)

These are all collision *handling* techniques.
For avoidance, I only know about growing the array whenever the load factor (free cells / used cells) grows over a given threshold (usually 0.75).
Is there something more evoluted?

Linear probing
Separate chaining

Linear probing : thelement is added at the end of the list, time complexity for this would be O(n)
Separate chaining : the element is added to the list at the beginning of the list.time complexity is O(1)
