How about using a hashtable to keep track of user(key) and referred pages(values).we can set the load factor for the hashtable as 70%.each time user accesses a page we calculate the % by referredpages/totalpages and if it crosses 20% we dont allow him.

20% of 70% is 14% of book/view. Each view allows pgs=floor(n*0.14) pages. Index by pg#/pgs to distinguish which group of pages and currpage=(pg#/pgs+pg# % pgs) to indicate pg # in group. Slot will store book data.

currpage=(pg#/pgs* pg#%pgs) for base-pgs.

currpage = pg#/pgs * pgs + pg# % pgs

also need to keep track of which grps are in memory now?
if a new grp needs to comein....check if we are at 70%...if not...add it..
as soon as someone finishes one grp of pages...deltee that entry from memory...can 3 ppl see the same page view at the same time?

how about using an interval tree ? i need to read up more on that before i can say for sure..
