If the low priority task has acquired a lock over a resource that is shared between the low and high priority tasks, the high priority task would wait for the resource to get released by the low priority task.

Because it would be a non-blocking process with higher priority than a lower priority process that would be blocking

priority inversion prevents high-priority threads from executing when interdependence exists among three or more threads of different priorities.

temporarily disabling all interrupts or boosting the priority of the low priority task. Then the low priority task could not be interrupted and priority inversion is not possible
