At the start of your program declare a variable and note its address or print it. Whenever you want to check stack size declare a new variable and print (new address - old address). That should give you an idea of stack size. For heap size just keep track of all the mallocs/new statements and their sizes and static variables.

but how will you find number of free bytes when you call free() function so that you can adjust your current heap size.
