pointer in a very good direction thanks . BTW i was thinking of using a linked list to do the same which would have been liitle inefficient to implement. But nevertheless Topological sorting seems to be the accurate answer to such problems.

Since key-value pairs are not interrelated, we cant use topological sort. Linked list looks as only the option.
