1. VlC not installed properly
2. Video file can be corrupt
3. Play file in n and n-1 version of vlc
4. File is not downloaded properly
5. Reinstall VLC if not installed properly
6. There is no video card installed in system.

Video file is corrupt
VLC Player is corrupt
Sound card is damaged
Video card is damaged
size of the video file is too big
resolution of video is not supported
file format is not supported by VLC
buffer space in vlc is exhausted
problem in laptop screen

1) Check the format of file, for example if its .mp4, does our version of VLC support .mp4?
2) Check if codecs are updated properly.
3) Check if VLC having issues running other movies in diff format( say .avi)
4) Is VLC generating ant crash log while playing that movie file, if yes what they suggest.
5) Is there some problem while image rendering which might due to the failure if graphics driver.
6) Check if VLC has relased any bug update for such issues, if yes, then update it and then check

1. Restart the vlc.
2. Try to play the movie in any other player.
3. Check the movie format is supported by vlc or not.
4. Check the system RAM.
5. Restart the system.
6. Clean the system cache any temp files.
7. Close other running applications.
8. Update the vlc.
9. Reinstall the vlc.
10. Check the vlc preferences, may b video and audio options are disable.
11. Try to change the movie file extension, some time you have .mp4 file and changed to .avi
12. Check if the any third party app is blocking to the vlc.
13. Check if the antivirus or firewall etc any security wall is blocking the vlc.
14. Check the task manager if there is any process or thread of vlc is running on the background, in that case kill that process.
15. Check if you have minimized the vlc.
16. Check the system video card capacity ( Memory) if it is capable to play the video.
17. Check if the movie file is corrupt.
18. Check if the movie file is already running and you are trying to playing it again in the same player.
19. Check if the audio and video driver are properly installed on system.
20. Check if the audio and video drivers are properly enable.
21. Check the internet connectivity if the movie file is required to play.
22. Check if the video file is not downloaded complete or still in downloading process.
23. Check if the system display is working fine.
24. Check if the movie file is very large.
25. Check the log if vlc is throwing some logs.
