Web workers are the only way to achieve/simulate multi threading in javascript

You can also use setTimeout() and setInterval().
You can do multi-threading in JavaScript using the Web Workers features of HTML5.
Using asynchronous XHR request.
Event Handler / Callbacks are also executed parallely.

- Real world example performing complex calculations e.g. calculating
- Sorting a long array.

setTimeout() and setInterval() usage or an asynchronous XHR Request doesn't result in multi threading. Same goes for event handler/ callbacks
