VLAN stands for Virtual Lan..The ports of the switches are in a virtual network and they carry traffic among each other..There r 2 types-->tagged and untagged vlans..tagged means packets r tagged by vlan id and untagged means packets are untagged.32 bits are there in IPV4 protocol.RFC is published by IETF for research and innovative works in Internet and Internet connected systems.
