Destroying Derived,

Because the method in the subclass overrides the method in the superclass

Wouldn't it actually be:

Destroying Derived
Destroying Base

The finalizer for the base class still gets called to do its cleanup, but it gets called after the derived class has done its cleanup if I recall correctly.

would have agreed, but tested it in code and original post is right. Only the Derived finalizer is called.

Destroying Derived Destroying Base First the base class will be executed and called up after that it will go for the parent class.
