This an example of a string copy method. The contents of s are copied into p until *s is zero (i.e. the null char) where the loop will exit.

while(*p++=*s++);
has undefined behavior in C99(there is no associativity among post increment operators) , i mean , 4 cases are possible:
1>*p=*s ,then increment ie p++ and s++
2>*p ,p++ then *p=*s ,s++
3>reverse of this
4>*p=*s ,then s++ and p++

The question is indirectly asking how to check buffer overflow for this code segment and as I see there should not be any buffer overflow with this part.

The loop condition should be bounded with boundaries. If because of memory corruption the loop condition goes crazy, still then the loop should not access memory outside the allocated one.
