For starters, I will debug the following.

1) I will check if all links work properly.
2) Categorization of articles is properly done.
3) When a user starts reading an article, check if the number of views of the article is updated in the database.
4) Navigation buttons are able to route to the desired location.

1.check news in different tabs and different sections
2.check for diffrerent links to be working properly
3.check the videos gets played properly
4.check the headlines/top stories get changed in some hours
5.check for the logo of the newspaper
6.check date and time displayed is correct
7.check the comment section to be working properly for any article

Are the scenarios mentioned above are testing scenarios?

Debugging should be done when there is a problem, I don't think theses are something done for debugging. Refer to wikipedia for debugging definition which says its a way of finding the problem and make the system better
