Bloomberg LP Interview Question
Financial Software DevelopersI would say 4 guess 3 treasure chests correctly and 1 guesses all 4 of them correctly
My thoughts are:
starting from the proabability of guessing 1 right(1/4):58%
the probability to guess 2 right (1/16):14%
so every additional treasure chest decreases the probability and hence the percentage by a factor of approximately 4
this gives:
guess 3 right (1/64): 4%
guess 4 right (1/256):1%
If you have one of the guess wrong, it implies you'll have another mistake. So there are all correct, or at least 2 wrong.
Let's work this out more precisely. If you say that gold is in chest A (while there is actually a silver), it implies, that you will guess wrong silver too, since you can't say that there are both gold and silver in chest A.
I would like to argue here:
We can have case for 3 wrong:
Actual: G S B C
Guessed: S B G C
So there are 3 wrong guesses here
Answer is
- Nivvy January 14, 20093 Guess : 0
4 Guess : 5
because if any one guess 3 correct that means the 4th one is also correct.
so The sum = 100
