Split file into chunks..Something like maintaining a Sliding Window Protocol... waiting for some time to retransmit. based on acknowledgements. like TCP

Split the file into pieces. Retransmit individual chunks as needed. Compare checksums.

You can use command line tools to build a solution: split, rsync, cat, and md5.

If it is talking about security in between ......

Then host1 will say apply lock1 to file and send it , then user2 will apply lock2 to file and return back . User1 will unlock the file and then send it , and then user2 will
unlock the file.
In this way nobody in between would be able to get the content.
