In case you still need to apply then study recursions properly for their programming test. The loaded is loaded with recursion questions even thou their code does not use much. Do permutations and combinations problem from programming interview exposed properly and you will be able to crack Epic's coding test.

As a former Epic employee, my suggestions is: don't go to Epic if you are a *real* software developer.

That is true. Epic uses visual basic 6. and cache. They are such old language. Coming to Epic can not polish your resume.

Why does EPIC not skip the proctored round for candidates with a GRE/TOEFL/SAT score? Based on the score, they can be easily filtered for the next round... saves everyone's time & money :)

That is not true. Every company puts a lot of effort to hire the most eligible candidates. Why would they spend so much on assessment exams and in person interviews if their only intention was taking interviews.

If they just wanted to take interviews for supporting someone to pass a bill or something , (like Computer Associates) then they would just ask to apply online. They would not go through the trouble of the WHOLE interview process.

I think the only reason that they did not hire you is because they did not feel that you would be a good fit.

A master from computer science cannot be judged my giving an English grammar test. We proved that by giving something called as GRE.
I think you might be member from the same company.
Friends from my university end up in Google and Bloomberg. But no one ever got selected in Epic. Everyone gave the same preliminary exam.
May be there is some huge fault into the companies hiring process.
The hr management might also do this to save there seat and show top management that they are trying hard to find a candidate. Its a good way to save once job.
I would not like to comment on this since I have a far better place to work any grow now.

I do not work at Epic and what you are saying might be true.
But then you could say the same about all other tech companies too.
They also consider GPA and other merit related scores. You said that you gave a GRE?. Maybe your score in English would be a little low. Also, there might be people who would be appearing without giving a SAT,gmat or gre. They might not have seperate tests for them.
I think they use Cache and vb as their main coding languages, at least for starters. Even, if you are a good fit based and your logic and answers, they might be looking for someone who has some primary level skills with .NET environment. Are you a Java programmer?
I have read some blogs on which interviewees were really confident that they would land that job based on tech questions asked, but they were turned down.

Its good that you have a better job. But, I really hope you and people who are reading this can give uncertainty a chance and don't get disheartened by reading your post. This holds true not only for Epic but any other company.

I think everyone is talking about one company in this thread.
I don't want to talk about my abilities in this thread. I have aced many job interviews and I have a job. I feel satisfied when I prove to myself and I feel good when I am challenged in ethical way.

All have there own capability . No one will get upset by reading my stuff.
When students give interview in Microsoft or Google ppl feel good about it ,no matter how well or pore they do. Ppl who are determined to succeed don't give up by reading what others say.
As I said this is my last talk, I cannot go further on this.
All the best for job hunters :)
