I think this question is similar to "how much would you charge to wash all the windows in downtown seattle"
I would reply with the following - Time taken to fill the Floppy disk = (Size of disk)/(transfer rate)

For this question i said depending upon the typing speed. Lets say i can type 40 words per minute. per hr 2400 words. i will convert this one into size of the floppy disk

what if you are copying data not typing? so it makes answer process dependent too. But i think it should have a fixed answer in all cases that might be widely accepted.

Depends on the speed
of either
a/ data transfer speed from the internal hardisk to floppy disk
or
b/data transfer speed from the internal RAM to floppy disk
Besides, if the floppy disk size say is given to be 4MB, some memory of it might already be occupied by the FAT Tables, so this need also be accounted for in the calculation using the bus speed.

Assume FLoppy size is 1.44 M...it takes 2.8932 seconds to fill the floppy. (Use a data transfer profiler to find out the transfer time)

It would take me forever to fill a floppy disk because first I'd have to find one... any idea where I'd get one? Maybe some antique piece on ebay?

The raw maximum transfer rate of 3 1⁄2-inch HD floppy drives and interfaces, disregarding overheads, is as much as 1000 kilobits/s.

1000Kb(kilobits) = 125KB(Kilobytes)

wikipedia: 3 1⁄2-inch HD Capacity 1.44 MB (2.0 MB unformatted)

1.44MB/125KB = 1.44 * 1024 (M = 1024K not 1000K) / 125 = 11.80s approximately 12s
