Re-testing:Testing the application which is already tested before. The re-execution of test cases on same application with multiple test data.
Purpose :Defects should be nullified in the present latest functionality.

Regression testing:
Re-testing is a part of regression testing. This is a type of testing performed on the application which is already tested before. when ever a new change is added to the existing application we should make sure that existing functionality remains same.

retesting is confirmation testing (confirming that defects

Retesting is used to verify that the bug is really fixed by developer. It is basically a confirmation testing.

Regression TEsting;-
It is used to verify that changes in one module is not affecting unchanged module. And to verify that The unchanged module is working fine.
