10 Answers Robot Programming puzzle

there is an number line and robot is at the middle position(suppose origin).
you have command sequence like "LRLR??L?L"
L for Left
R for Right
? for left or right
You have to find the max reach either in negative or positive via this command replacing question mark with left or right.
If u have any idea just comment over it

Find total L - total R, ignoring the ?.

If negative, turn all the ? into R, else L.

this will not work at all and we have to find the max reach
We have to find the maximum displacement by the robot.
have some tese cases you will find this method will not work out

Max reach vs max final position. You are right unknown, this answer is dealing with max final position, not max reach.

@anonymous: suppose replace L with -1 and R with 1.
Example
LRLLR
-1,1,-1,-1,1
so max reach will be 2 in left side. So we need just max reach. But we have some question marks also which can be anything left or right.
