Seems straight forward to me. Fill an array with your "specific" percentages, then pick uniformly across the elements of the array.
- Anonymous March 20, 2013Or maybe the interviewer is just asking you to take a basic random number generator and force the output into the percentage range [0.0-1.0] or [0 - 100]. However, the problem is that there are multiple possible random number generators (drand48, rand, etc.), so you may have to assume about the range or the output. Yet, you can discuss it generally in terms of the _initial_ and _final_ elements of the range (rand()-init)/(final-init). (Multiplied by 100.0 if you want the second range.)
