link list and hash. combine them together.
but people do not use this in practice...
they use LRU approximation.

How about using splay trees. When we have to insert a new item and cache is full, the node with the largest depth in the tree can be replaced with the newer item.

A queue + HashMap containing address of each node of queue and it's left sibling.

Why not use heap. Root will have LRU item. If item is accessed increase its key (key could be timestamp when item was accessed)
