If u use any of the system resources like sockets or file IO be sure to close them in finally block, so even if any exception occurs the resources will b freed. Java doesnt manage the resources managed by the OS

finally is block of code which is used to handle any statements after throw or throws exception may be user defined or inbuilt
in java the flow goes like try-catch-throw-finally
