an array is a static data structure; the length of an array cannot be extended at runtime. on the contrary, a linked list is a dynamic data structure; its length can grow or shrink dynamically

also you can fetch an element in an array in O(1) time. you need an average of O(n) time to fetch one from a linked list

In Array the elements are stored on serial memory location.
Ex:chat arr[4]
if &arr[0]=0x1002 then
&arr[1]=0x1003,
&arr[2]=0x1004,
&arr[3]=0x1005,
But in linked list the elements i.e. nodes are note necessarily to be stored in serial memory location.
Ex &Node1=0x1000
&Node2=0x4000,
&Node3=0x1400
